2. FGBC Annual Membership Meeting
As required by the FGBC Bylaws, members of the Florida Green Building Coalition are requested to gather once each year at the Annual GreenTrends Conference for the Annual Meeting of the FGBC Membership. Come meet the new FGBC Board Members and Officers, learn about the new Bylaw changes, New Membership Benefits, New Committees, and what Plans and Initiatives are in store for the coming year for the organization.
3. Theme & Expanded Program Offerings
The theme for this year’s conference is “Building a Green Florida Together” and reflects our organization’s effort to provide a better understanding of the various Green Building Standards, Guidelines and Certification Programs offered in the state of Florida and to begin a dialog on how we can work together to avoid confusion over which to use when. This year, GreenTrends 2005 will feature Breakout Sessions, which will permit an expanded selection of programs from which to choose.
4. New Awards & Recognition Program and Dinner
This will be a relaxing, fun filled, casual evening event, featuring a Social Hour, outdoor Rib & Chicken Barbecue Dinner, the Awards & Recognition Program, a Keynote Address and a wonderful photographic presentation on Florida’s natural beauty. Remember, the entire evening is casual, so dress up is not required. FGBC will be awarding the 2005 Green Building Awards to 29 recipients in 10 categories at this year’s Awards & Recognition Program.
5. Local Green Building Tour
Sarasota County is the leader in Green Building in the State of Florida. Take a tour on Friday afternoon, immediately following the end of the conference, to four local outstanding examples of Green Building in this area. The following locations will be visited during this tour: Lakewood Ranch, Twin Lakes Office Building Complex, Florida House Learning Center, and Venetian Golf & River Club.
6. Sarasota Efest
A Gala Event on Friday evening and an all day Festival on Saturday, both being held at the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall in downtown Sarasota, This is an event where E = energy, economy, environment, equality, ecology, entrepreneurs, education and excellence. The festival is an opportunity to connect with over 100 businesses and organizations exhibiting innovative products, services and resources in a festive outdoor setting. 7. First Annual Florida Green Building Open Golf Tournament
This is a fund raising event for FGBC, sponsored by WCI Communities and held at the Venetian Golf & River Club in North Venice, FL. on “Sunday, May 29, 2005 at 1:30 PM. Event includes golf, prizes and dinner at the River Club. More information at http://www.greentrends.org/2005/events.htm
