Southeast Building Conference

The Florida Green Builders Coalition, Inc. (FGBC) and the Florida Home Builders Association (FHBA) have agreed to co-locate their trade shows and educational conferences for 2007. The FHBA-sponsored Southeast Building Conference (SEBC) and FGBC-sponsored GreenTrends will be held jointly on July 11-14, 2007 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, FL. Delegates to the expanded conference will experience over 1,000 exhibits, including a section of the exposition hall devoted to green building products and services. Over 65 seminars and intensive workshops are planned, with special emphasis on “All the Right Moves” for quality, durability and the environment. These educational programs will provide an excellent way for attendees to learn more about green building, while earning professional CEU credits in the process. During SEBC, FGBC and FHBA will also be co-hosting our annual GreenTrends Reception and FGBC will be holding its Annual Meeting of the Membership. These events will provide excellent opportunity for us to network with other green building professionals here in Florida.

We believe this is a great opportunity for everyone who chooses to participates in the conference. For FGBC, it gives us the opportunity to promote green building to a broader audience as SEBC attracts 16,000 housing professionals to its trade show and educational programs. FGBC will have a booth in the GreenTrends section of the exhibit hall, which will be staffed by FGBC member volunteers. This co-location agreement adds another dimension to the FHBA-FGBC partnership, which was created in 2006 to produce and promote a uniform set of Green Building standards for the state of Florida. You will be hearing a lot more about SEBC/GreenTrends 2007 in the coming months, but go ahead and save the dates on your planning calendar.
